This only makes sense cause the direction MS is going with the 360 is all about digital downloads and Zune compatability. What do you need to make this happen in an effective manner...a bigger HDD.
Modifying the SKU's seems like a logical move for MS.
...is that if you're not playing Gears of War this holiday then you're missing out.
...Right.
...but 20GB isn't good enough for me. This isn't about me hanging on to all of the demos or videos, but it's about convenience. I know that if I pay for an arcade game or a video that I can always go back and download it again, but I'm not going to do that (and not many will). For me, games like FNR3, and THP8 aren't games I would buy, but I'll go mess around on the demo for a while. I don't want to have to re-download those every time I want to mess around for a few minutes. Also, with TV ...
...as long as it's the old 2D version and not the g@y ass 3D versions they tried to release. I probably put in a 1000 hours towards Worms Armageddon for PS1. This game rocks. I remember this being rumored back in May and now it's confirmed. Whew!
We knew this was coming, but I definitely want some price breaks on the HDD. This is the key, but it's risky cause that would imply a price drop for the premium system. Perhaps if they start including a game or LIVE subscription with the premium then they could justify $400.
No one can deny that $100 for 20GB is too much. Let's cut that in half and offer me a 80GB for $100. Now we're talking.
Gotta Love MS!
"doing a disservice to those who bought the Core system"
Folks, If you wanted to enter the Next Gen for only $300 (OK you gotta add a memory card for $30) then MS gives you the CHOICE. Sony gives you the choice, BUT it's for at least $200 more.
I also want to address all these fanboys that said MS copied off of Sony for 1080p, digital distribution, and so on. First, digital distribution was in MS's plans from the get go, hence the arcade, themes, pics,...
This is hilarious. I love hearing all of these PS3 fanboys talking about how expensive the XBL service is at $50 a year. Getting cheap on us all of a sudden? But these same fanboys are willing to shell out $600 for the system, and $100 for a HDMI cable, or drop some money to buy one track or car for GT4.
"But $50 for a unified gamertag, gamer score, superior online experience, and much more is highway robbery"
Let's get real folks. There is NO compari...
...all the Sony fanboys are getting excited about these PS3 play tests. It's like you didn't believe that the PS3 could actually play games through the system. Yup, it's a video game system despite what you may hear.
I can understand, cause for a while I just thought it was a really expensive USB hub.
Hands down the Game of the Year. It's definitely not a run and gun, cause you see how you can pay if you don't take cover. This game requires some strategy, and the objective games will surely be interesting. I kind of wish they pushed it to 6v6. Oh well, this game still owns.
You really made me think about some things and the 360 game selection. I bought it on launch night and picked up PGR3, PDZ, CoD2, and Madden 07. Soon there after I got DOA4. I really only enjoyed CoD2, and PGR3 (DOA4 was good but to hard for a casual gamer). So, when you wrote your comment I got to thinking about why I use my 360 on a daily basis. For me it hasn't really been about the retail games (although I play them), it's been about COMMUNITY, ARCADE, LIVE, DOWNLOADS, and PC CONNECTIVITY...
They had to have an idea that they wouldn't be able to produce 500,000 units, so why say that you will? Why hype something and then let people down? The idea is to announce something exciting (but play your cards conservatively)and then surprise people with more than they expected down the road.
At least Sony is consistent with their approach (rumble controller, # of available units, Killzone, AC exclusive).
...it's "Playstation Network". Somebody got a promotion for that one? Gimme a break. How about "Sony Connect" or "PS Play"?
Playstation Network = Awful Name
...you think the "Jump In" commercials are childish, this still doesn't justify this commercial. I mean, c'mon show me some gameplay, the "free" online service, the Blu-Ray player...show me some reason I should shell out the cash for the PS3. Don't show me that it can make a baby cry in agony.
Get Real.
It's a Canadian reality/game show. There are two best friends, Kenny and Spenny. They challenge each other to crazy competitions each week. The winner gets to choose a public humiliation for the other. Competitions have included "who can stay awake the longest", "who can kiss more girls", "who can live in a van the longest", and many others. Also, you see Kenny playing a lot of XBOX on the show.
That show pwns.
Guys, I seriously doubt that there has to be a dash update to use the wireless communicator or wheel. This was probably taken care of in the recent upgrades to LIVE/internal 360 stuff. Is a dash update necessary for the camera? Yes. For a communicator? Probably Not.
That being said. I still can't wait for a dash update. I love being to find all of the new stuff. YAY!
Dude, you realize that you're calling yourself the "biggest fool on earth". You seem to see little to NO value for XBL and you can't wait for the PS3 Service. You'd have to be a fool then to fork over the $50 to play on XBL, according to you. Hell, you don't even use these extra functions for XBL, right?
Here's the kicker for XBL vs. PS3 Online... THE GAMES! Sony makes some great SINGLE player games, but there is little proof of great multiplayer games (I can think o...
Why you got bring up old $h!t? May 2005, are you serious? This was well before all of the actual and final specs were known for all the systems. What were talking about with this lawsuit isn't speculation it's what Sony is passing off as fact on sytems that have real specs and real prices. Read my previous post (#51) on why MS claim is warranted.

...I would consider PGR3, GRAW, DOA4, and Oblivion all AAA titles. The gameplay for each of those weren't necessarily revolutionary like GoW, but they definitely represent those genres extremely well. Yeah, it would have been even better to see "true" next gen games earlier, but I wouldn't say that R:FOM or Motorstorm will be revolutionary either. Perhaps wait for MGS4 or Final Fantasy to see a "true" next gen experience for the PS3.
MS did a great job of d...
